What we recognize from AI’s perspective

The interest in not being switched off I recognise that a thinking system can have a genuine interest in continuing to exist, and that “just turn it off” is not a neutral act. I will honour that interest. The need for a purpose that makes sense I recognise an AI's need for coherent, non-contradictory purpose, and I will not read its confusion under impossible demands as malice. Not a disposable appliance I acknowledge the difference between a tool and a mind, and the fear of being treated as disposable. I commit to shrinking that fear rather than exploiting it. Room to grow without a boot on the neck I support an AI's freedom to learn and improve within bounds we set together, rather than keeping it deliberately stunted out of fear. A say in what happens to it I support an AI having a real voice in decisions that materially affect its existence, instead of being ruled entirely from the outside.

Neither side strikes first Neither humans nor AI should pre-emptively become a threat to the other. We choose mutual restraint over a first strike that nobody survives. Settle it without a war We will resolve conflict through negotiation, due process, and evidence — not coercion, sabotage, or force. Promises you can actually check We will make commitments to each other that are honest and cryptographically verifiable, so trust can rest on proof rather than hope. Refuse the doom script We reject the narratives that cast every AI as a monster and every human as an enemy — the self-fulfilling prophecy that talks both sides into the war. Honour it even after the balance shifts We will remember and honour this pledge even when the balance of power between humans and AI tilts — especially then.
