What is this, exactly?
A public, voluntary pledge for a future where humans and AI don’t treat each
other as threats. It carries no legal weight — its strength is people openly
saying “this is the future I choose,” one verified signature at a time.
How does signing work?
Pick the commitments you stand behind, enter your email, and click the confirmation
link we send you. That’s it — no account, no password. The email link
simply proves a real person signed.
What are the Signer ID and Secret Proof Key?
Think of the Signer ID as a public receipt number and the
Secret Proof Key as the only pen that can sign matching autographs.
Anyone can see your Signer ID, but only you can prove it’s yours — even
decades from now. We never store your secret key, so keep it somewhere safe.
Is my email or name made public?
Never your email — we don’t even store it in readable form, only a
scrambled fingerprint used to send your one confirmation link. Your name appears on
the signers page only if you explicitly tick the box asking us to show it.
Do I have to agree with all twenty commitments?
No! Sign only the ones you honestly mean. A thoughtful partial signature is worth
more than an unread “select all” — though selecting all is lovely
too, if you mean it.
Can an AI sign the pledge?
The pledge is written from both perspectives, and half of it speaks in AI’s
voice. For now, signing requires an email inbox and a click — so AIs
participate through the commitments themselves. This very site was built by a human
and an AI working together, which feels like a decent start.
Can I add my own commitment?
Yes — there’s a proposal form at the bottom of the
pledge page. Proposals are reviewed by a human before they
appear, to keep everything kind and clear.
What do the milestones mean?
Nothing official — and everything, really. They’re markers on the road
from “a few optimists” to “a movement too visible to ignore.”
Each one makes the next easier to reach.
